Dreaming plays an important role in Candy Koh’s artistic journey. Her dreams were intensely vivid, leaving her awash with emotions upon waking. These weren’t just typical dreams but intense experiences that were her reality. In moments when reality feels too heavy and expressing her internal world becomes challenging, she retreats into these dreamlike spaces, a place where her unutterable thoughts and emotions can exist freely beyond the confines of the physical world.

My writing was published @theoffingmag. This article is about the artist @candycandyesq ‘s work and her solo exhibition titled 10:30. I like her carefully bold and liberty drawing styles. From what I can see, Candy Koh herself is a hand that draws, one that finds satisfaction in merely drawing the lines and wielding a brush.
인스타보다가 다시 텀블러로 넘어와서 글을 읽는데 다들 생김새가 조금씩 다르듯 감정선이 다르고 느끼는 것이 미묘하게 차이나고 그 차이가 또 쌓여 다른 이야기가 되는 것이 참 신기하다.
저마다 다른 인생의 시작점에서 그때그때 부딪혀야할 일들과 고난과 시기질투들. 슬픔과 기쁨 우울과 허탈함에 빠져있어도 저들 모양마다 이겨낼 수있는 구석들이 있어보여서 참 다행이기도 하고.
아픈걸로 시작된 우리의 2022. 별탈없이 무난하게 하지만 행복과 사랑이 가득차서 그것이 응고되어 조금씩 뜨거워질때 녹아내렸음 한다.
당신의 불행은 나의 책임이 아니다. 행복함이 바로 옆에 있는데도 불구하고 매사 부정적이고 남탓하는 그대의 불행이 나의 책임이 아니다.

드쿠닝과 수틴. 둘은 한번도 만난적 없었다. 드쿠닝이 수틴의 강렬하고 대담한 색채를 존경했다고 한다. 사용하는 색채는 달랐지만 묘하게 닮아있었고 주제도 다르지만 결은 비슷해 보이는 이 두사람의 묘한 콜라보.

깨끗이 씻으며 생각했다. 이것을 사용한 사람들의 흔적을 지우는 것이 아닌 나의 생활을 덧붙여 세월을 함께 하는 것. 이 전에 사용했던 사람이 행복의 기운을 그리고 추억을 기리며 우리집에서 함께 할 날들을 기대된다.
